Detail: The Marine Corps Toys for Tots coordinator sent this press release out through the Sheriff’s office. I have not seen it run anywhere and fear it may have been lost in the shuffle. We are now “open for business” accepting signups from the families. Generally, the local community resource centers handle the registrations. We do it online through a “Google Docs” website. We already have over 6,000 children signed up. I predict that by mid-December, we’ll have well over 15,000 children asking for toys. The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help less fortunate children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable resources – our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause for three months each year during the annual toy collection and distribution campaign; and to contribute to better communities in the future.
